DHS Students Participate in Teen Driver Awareness Week
Students enrolled in the driver education program at Deshler High School participated in the Teen Driver Awareness Program. October 19-23, 2009 is marked as Teen Driver Awareness Week. State Farm Agent, David Reed, served as guest speaker to all students in driver education classes. His message highlighted safety issues specific to the teen driver. He also showed a video revealing consequences of common mistakes teenagers make while driving.
Deshler High School Driver Education program is the recipient of a State Farm Grant for $2,500. The grant will be used to support the Teen Driver Awareness Program at the school. This funding will used to reinforce education to improve good driving behavior during critical teen years. Darrell Higgins is the Driver's Education Teacher and Mrs. Suzanne Stockton is the System Grant Writer.
