National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
|
Deshler High School
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is the teaching profession's highest credential. National Board Certification© produces education transformation in the classroom - where teaching and learning take place. The National Board Certification© process, requires teachers to go through self-reflection and analysis of how time is spent in the classroom. It is a rigorous professional development project taking teachers as much as 3 years to complete with many teachers spending 300-500 hours in this process. By analyzing, documenting and videoing classroom activities, teachers show daily practices and begin to streamline the most effective teaching techniques. Teachers compare their daily activities to the highest standards for the teaching profession. As a result, teachers increase effectiveness in the classroom producing a higher quality learning environment for our students.
